Germany's most sustainable hotel and Europe's greenest hotel in a historic atmosphere
Only 20 kilometres west of Berlin, the historic country estate is located in the middle of a picturesque park landscape at Groß Behnitzer See. The organic hotel, which is certified as a public welfare hotel, stands for a family atmosphere, excellent service and the best regional food. The hotel has once again been awarded the title of Germany’s most sustainable conference hotel and Europe’s greenest hotel. In addition to regional, fresh cuisine and top service quality, the Stober family gives top priority to public welfare criteria: 20% of the income is donated to social and humanitarian causes, 20% is returned to the employees and 40% is used for reinvestment. With his vision of sustainable business activity on a cultural background, the founder of the historic estate has created a unique conference hotel where guests experience the special spirit of the place. More than 300 modern rooms are distributed between the organic hotel and the lodging house with a view of Lake Behnitz, and more than 30 conference rooms are available to guests on the estate. The historic structures of the red brick buildings have been lovingly preserved and ecologically sustainable facilities, e.g. a wood heating system for heat generation, a rainwater system for all toilets or a photovoltaic system for electricity generation, reflect the hotel’s green concept. All rooms are also electrosmog-reduced.
Culinary delights
Probably the most beautiful lakeside terrace in Havelland awaits guests in the estate’s restaurant, where only market-fresh and regional products are used in the cooking. The sensitively restored former poultry house and calf barn surprises with healthy creative recipes made from organic products. The in-house wine cellar has its own access to the old distillery and can accommodate up to 75 people in the extraordinary ambience.
Business
More than 30 rooms with a seating capacity of up to 750 are available for the implementation of individual event concepts. Fully technically equipped, the historic architecture of the hotel, which has been certified as “Sustainable Meetings Berlin”, inspires creative performances. Events for up to 3,000 people can be realised here on approx. 30,000 sqm of outdoor space. Salon August with 597 sqm is the largest meeting room and can even be accessed by car.

Teambuilding activity “All in one boat”
Teambuilding and action – Dragon boating is not just about everyone sitting in the same boat. Accompanied by an experienced helmsman, the team explores Lake Groß Behnitz or solves tasks in a scavenger hunt on the water. If you want something more sporty, you can compete fairly against the rival team during a dragon boat race. The helmsman is on board the whole time and gives valuable advice on paddling technique and competition tactics. To beat the opponents, the team spirit is what counts most, because only those who paddle to the same beat win!
