The Black Forest

The Black Forest holiday region covers a total of 11,100 square kilometres in southwest Germany. The region is particularly beautiful in winter: Snow-covered surfaces and forests, icy waterfalls, ski slopes and cross-country ski trails.

The most beautiful winter sport areas are the slopes around Feldberg & Todtnauberg, at Belchen and between Baiersbronn & Todtmoos.

December to March are relatively safe months to expect enough snow for winter sport activities.

Have you ever heard of the black forest cherry cake? Imagine coming home from an active day in the snow and a big piece of this delicious cake is waiting for you, yummy!

Nature Ice Palace Hintertuxer Gletscher

The Nature Ice Palace on the Hintertux Glacier near Innsbruck, Austria is a unique natural jewel in the world. Visitors explore a system of natural cavities and artificial connections and marvel at magical ice stalactites, giant sparkling ice crystals, frozen waterfalls and even a glacial lake.

In the Nature Ice Palace, the temperature is a constant 0° degrees 365 days a year. The ice cave is open all year round and can be visited in all weather conditions.

A visit to the Nature Ice Palace can therefore be ideally combined with a day of skiing on the Hintertux Glacier or with a detour to the panorama terrace.

Burg Hohenzollern & Royal Winter Magic

The Castle is not a museum in conventional sense but a place steeped in history, and at the same time, it is extremely lively.

In addition to its art collection, numerous concerts, open-air cinema, exhibitions as well as one of the most beautiful Christmas markets in Germany make the castle an attractive institution all year round.

Swabian counts and princes, Prussian kings and German emperors: they all have their roots in Hohenzollern Castle – located exactly between Lake Constance and Stuttgart. At an altitude of 855 metres, the proud fortress sits enthroned on the cone-shaped Zollerberg and thus offers a majestic panoramic view.

The Royal Winter Magic spoils its visitors with large-scale illuminations outside and elaborate Christmas decorations in the royal chambers. You can stroll around the castle grounds and through the interior rooms and let yourself be carried away into the Christmas world of royalty and majesty.

Kitzbühel & Hahnenkamm Race

The Kitzbühel area enchants with its magnificent nature, its events, and its villages and towns. Kitzbühel combines urban flair with typical Tyrolean hospitality, offers culinary diversity and exclusive shopping opportunities.

No surprise that this enjoyable combination of sport and lifestyle attracts many stars and starlets during the cold season.

In the midst of the spectacular mountain world of the Kitzbühel Alps lies the holiday region with its capital Kitzbühel in the east of North Tyrol.

Kitzbühel is always in season and especially in winter a destination with tradition and extraordinary charm. From October to the beginning of May, winter enthusiasts will find their paradise in Kitzbühel.

The legendary Hahenkamm race takes place every year since 1931. The world’s best skiers come to Kitzbühel for the legendary Streif downhill and the slalom on the Ganslern slope. The race course in Kitzbühel is considered one of the most difficult in the world.

Winter-Wine Magic in Traben-Trabach

Have you ever wondered how a traditional wine region like the Moselle celebrates the advent time? Since the harvesting time has come to an end, wine makers can fully concentrate on creating something truly special: handcrafted vinter’s mulled wine.

The romantic town of Traben-Trabach usually invites Christmas market guests into the town’s wine cellars, which is not possible this year due to the pandemic.

However the resilience of the locals has led to something magnificent: Instead of wine cellars, this year’s Christmas markets will be made of little Christmas villages in the town.

The small various Christmas villages are surrounded by the colourful glow of the city lights. Visitors and locals alike can warm up on a vinter’s mulled wine and other culinary delights that the stands of the little villages have to offer.

Happy Winter Season & a wonderful Christmas time!
