Nuremberg

Nuremberg was one of the economic and political centers of the middle Ages. The impressive history of the former Free Imperial City can be seen in every corner of the city, dominated by the famous Imperial Castle above the city.

A stroll through Nuremberg’s old town is a great way to combine shopping and sightseeing. Museums, churches and small romantic alleys are just around the corner from the shopping district, with its modern boutiques and department stores, the Handwerkshof or the small and exclusive specialty stores.

A tradition that also dates back to the middle ages and is still very popular today is the Christkindlesmarkt before Christmas. Hundreds of small stalls sell gifts, handicrafts, gingerbread, mulled wine, sausages and radiate a very special Christmas flair.
